Factors in How To Determine What Size Breast Implant To Go With
The decision has been made! You’ve decided to get a breast augmentation.
You have done your due diligence and found a quality surgeon in the Atlanta, Georgia area. You’ve asked all the questions (what type of implants, are they safe, how long will the procedure and healing time take); you are ready!
But, there is still one question to ask! What size breast implant is appropriate for me? Is larger really better?
It may seem like a unneccessary question, but it is something you need to contemplate.
First youshouldthink about the size of your body. Your chest size, especially your chest width, has a lot to do with the look of your breast augmentation. How far your breasts are apartas compared to the increase in size will affect how normal the results of procedure appear. You don’t want to have your cosmetic surgery procedure look irregular.
Also, the elasticity of your skin must be considered. Going from an A cup to a DD may not be realistic if you don’t have room under the skin to hide the implant. Again, stretching your skin too much can create an fakelook and can cause complications to the surgery.
Forget about bra size. Bra sizes vary between companies. A “C cup bra from Victoria’s Secret could be a “B cup or a “D cup with another company. Breast implants are measured in cubic centimeters. Your surgeon can show you illustrations of the difference between what a 300 cc implant looks like in comparison to a 400 cc.
While having fullbreasts might be the goal, they may come with other problems. If you are small, as example, and go for a bigbreast size, you mayfind yourself with back pain from the additional weight. This can create issues with posture as well.
So how do youdecide? One way to test your new breasts before surgery is to fill a stocking with rice and insert it into your unpadded bra. One ounce of rice is about equal to a 30 cc implant. Try various sizes; finding the appearance and weight you are comfortable with. Once you have a comfortable fit, you have a great starting jumping off point to talk about with your cosmetic surgeon.
Now that you have committed to getting your breasts enlarged, make sure it’s correct the first time. Choose a size that you’ll both be happy with and fits your body well.
